FOR THOSE WHO ENVY SELF SABOTAGE (2019)
is the result of a three-week movement research that centralises around the psychological discomfort of alienation. The research contemplates this process as an act of self-sabotage in order to gain spiritual enrichment instead of mental mitigation. In this way, the choreography is constructed around body-objectification and the velocity of stillness and slowness, resulting in a monotone, continuous movement that narrates the alternation of the downward pull of gravity and the hovering force of enlightenment, the internal state of the gaze and the blank explosion of revelation, the mind and the body, identity and selflessness. Next to that, the piece is magnified by the use of experimental vocal sound in an analogue and digital way.
